Post Season Volunteers

There several benefits of hosting the tournament - We get to play on the nicest field in NE Portland, we don't have to travel to other leagues located much farther away down the river and we get a bye in the first round of the tournament!

We are hoping to get the exact playing dates after all team affidavits are reviewed and signed this Saturday.

In addition to watching your child play some highly competitive baseball against other District 1 (NE and North Portland) teams we would like you to consider how you can volunteer to help run the tournament from June 22 through July 7th.

We ask that each family consider one of the following volunteer opportunities

Working the snack shack and grill (especially when your child is NOT playing)
One Parent volunteer to announce players over the microphone from the press box as they come to bat during the game
One Parent volunteer to help keep the official score in the press box. You will work along side the District 1 scorekeeper who will help you distinguish between a pass ball and wild pitch
One Parent volunteer to help keep score on the electronic scoreboard (from the blue tooth connection from the comfort of your own seat).

We will be generating a sign up sheet to help manage the snack shack during the two week tournament. We gross over $10,000 during the District Tournament

Finally, (I know it is last minute) there is an opportunity to purchase program ads for to recognize your child (see attachment). The fees go to the District 1 to help cover administrative fees. (Umpires are never paid and are 100% volunteer)
